What should I look for when buying shoes?

First of all, a shoe should look like your foot. Put the shoe you want to try on next to your foot. If the shape is a lot pointier than your foot, it will be hard to fit, even in the correct size or a larger size. You should have a thumbnail width of room in front of your longest toe on your largest foot. Your toes should be able to wiggle around in the shoe. If the back of the shoe is enclosed, the part that supports your foot should be firm, to keep your ankles from twisting.
